iExplore Argentina Active: Fishing(Trip #64754)

Tour Overview

Welcome to Argentina! Buenos Aires is one of the world’s biggest cities in which, including the suburbs, there are over 11 million inhabitants. It is also the most elegant and active city in South America and one that summarizes the heterogeneous essence of Argentina. With a modern, hip structure and dynamic activity, it has manager to preserve old traditions and endearing corners. Visitors feel fascinated because of its environment, because neighborhoods all have different personalities, and also because people are warm and there is a wide range of shopping and cultural venues. Buenos Aires is surrounded by the splendid Argentine nature and it is the great cosmopolitan door to South America.

Golden Dorados are exceptionally strong swimmers. They typically ranged in size from 10 to 15 pounds. In some fisheries, twenty pounders are common. Although the current IGFA all-tackle record is over 50 pounds, giants of up to 70 pounds have been recorded. Their intense, almost radiant golden color is marked with holographic black horizontal stripes. This patterning, coupled with their powerful jaws and razor sharp teeth have earned the Dorado the sobriquet “River Tiger” in Argentina.

All fishermen will be accompanied by a professional guide and will float the marshlands looking for Golden Dorados, on modern Skiff Boats, specially designed for fly-fishing in this type of habitat.

Day 2: Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. Today is at your leisure to explore Buenos Aires on your own.

Buenos Aires continues to be a wonderful combination of sleek skyscrapers, ornate friezes and turn-of-the-last-century grandeur - at once ultrachic and tumbledown, up-to-date and firmly planted in the past. Even before the recent financial troubles, there was always a spirit of malaise in B.A., as it is affectionately known locally, which may help explain the devotion to that bittersweet expression of Argentine popular culture, the tango. Performed in the streets, on stages, in cafes, the sorrowful and romantic nature of the dance is integral to the city.

Day 9: Buenos Aires
Enjoy a free day in Buenos Aires, perhaps visiting the shopping district. Shopping in Argentina is a hotbed for your shopping extravaganza. It has everything from street markets, where you might find a rare jewel for a relative back home, to the ritzy brand names that we have all grown fond of. While shopping in Buenos Aires you may notice a European flair- that is because Buenos Aires is known as a Latin Paris. The architecture is heavily influenced by Europeans, so you might forget where you are until you hear the Spanish colloquial.

This evening, meet your bilingual guide in the lobby for a private transfer to a Tango Show and dinner at Esquina Carlos Gardel or Piazzola Tango Show.

After this enjoyable evening, you will be driven back to the hotel.
