Tour Overview

Montenegro- the pearl of the Mediterranean. Formally declared an independent state only in 2006, Montenegro lies on the Balkan Peninsula, covering an area of only 13,800 square km. This charming country more than makes up for its small size with its astonishing diversity. Located along one of Montenegro’s most beautiful bays, the city of Kotor’s magnificent medieval architecture and famous monuments have made this city a UNESCO listed site. One such monument is the cathedral of St. Tryphon, a remarkable legacy of past Roman culture and the oldest of its kind east of the Adriatic. Also visit Budva- founded over 2,500 years ago; it is one of the oldest settlements along the Adriatic. Budva is the center of Montenegro’s tourist industry, and is well known for its sandy beaches, exciting nightlife and incredible architecture. All yours to explore.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Dubrovnik, Croatia- Kotor- Budva, Montenegro
This morning after breakfast at your hotel in Dubrovnik, your guide will pick you up and you will depart for Montenegro.

After a two-hour scenic drive, you arrive in Kotor where you stop with your guide for a sightseeing tour.

Located along one of Montenegro's most beautiful bays is Kotor, a city of traders and famous sailors, with many stories to tell. The Old City of Kotor is a well-preserved urbanization typical of the Middle Ages, built between the 12th and 14th century. Medieval architecture and numerous monuments of cultural heritage have made Kotor a UNESCO listed “World Natural and Historical Heritage Site". Through the entire city the buildings are criss-crossed with narrow streets and squares. One of these squares contains the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon (Sveti Tripun), a monument of Roman culture and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. The Church of Saint Luke (Sveti Luka) from the 13th century, Church of Saint Ana (Sveta Ana) from the 12th century, Church of Saint Mary (Sveta Marija) from the 13th century, Church of the Healing Mother of God (Gospe od Zdravlja) from the 15th century, the Prince’s Palace from the 17th century and the Napoleon’s Theatre from the 19th century are all treasures that are part of the rich heritage of Kotor. Carnivals and festivals are organized each year to give additional charm to this most beautiful city of the Montenegrin littoral. You will have some time to enjoy lunch (not included) in the old town before continuing on to Budva- about a one hours drive. You simply cannot afford to miss a visit to Kotor.
Upon arrival in Budva you will be taken to your hotel to check in. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Like a fairytale castle, the Queen of Montenegro Hotel is situated in a picturesque Mediterranean landscape, rising on a hill overlooking the beautiful Adriatic Sea. Special features of this lavish hotel are the Bečići Beach, located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, and the closeness of Budva.

Budva’s pebble beaches, crystal-clear sea and mild climate place it among the most beautiful coasts in the world and it truly represents the crown of Montenegrin tourist offering. The Old Town is a place of important historic and religious monuments, galleries, boutiques and cafes and during the summer it turns into a theatrical stage!
